Kegging

Kegging removes the two slowest and most tedious parts of home brewing: washing fifty bottles, and waiting a fortnight for them to carbonate. Fill a keg, set the regulator, and it is drinkable the next day.

Kegging

What we stock

What you need to start kegging

A first keg setup is a keg, a CO2 cylinder, a regulator, and the disconnects and lines to join them. The starter bundles here collect those into one purchase, which is usually cheaper than assembling the same parts individually.

Keg size is worth thinking about before you buy. A nineteen litre corny holds a full batch but needs a fridge that will take it. The 9.5 and 7.5 litre kegs fit most bar fridges and let you keep two different beers on tap in the space of one large keg.

Line length is the detail that catches people out. Roughly three metres of five millimetre inner-diameter line balances a typical system at twelve psi. Too short and every pour is foam, no matter how carefully the beer was carbonated.
